The mathematical models blog was created to provide young women with positive (mathematical) role models, share success stories of #womeninSTEM, bust the myth that the math you learn in school is "never used" in real life, spark interesting discussions about mathematics, and show young students interested in math and/or science the endless options of career opportunities open to them.
When I was in high school, I failed math. This resulted in low self-confidence in my mathematical abilities, and a genuine dislike for the subject. But with the help of a very encouraging teacher and the self-determination to overcome my struggles with math, I learned to see the beauty in it. I am now obsessed with math and post photos of math in the real world on my Instagram. I hope my story, as well as the stories of other mathematical models, can reach students who feel as though math is difficult or uninteresting. Sometimes it takes a struggle to realize your passion. #thelimitdoesnotexist
